FOX4KC: A mainstay of local news and community engagement.

FOX4kc,which is also known as WDAF-TV, is the oldest station in the area,which went on air in October 1949. Operating on virtual channel 4 and UHF digital channel 34 it has been a base for news, weather, and sports coverage of the Kansas City metro area. Owned by Nexstar Media Group,WDAF-TV’s studios and transmitter are at Summit Street in Kansas City’s Signal Hill neighborhood.

Since the start FOX4 has been dedicated to bringing out timely and relevant news to our viewers. We produce 74 hours of local news weekly, which also puts us at #1 in all newscasts Monday through Friday. Also, we have “Working for You” which we put forward to prove our commitment.This franchise is of investigative journalism and community based projects which we run into practice fora better viewof lives and also to showcase what is great about the community.

Community Engagement and Programming

Beyond what you see in our newscasts, FOX4 is very much a part of the Kansas City community. We run over 600 community events each year which which we are very proud of. Also we present “The Problem Solvers” and “Pay it Forward” which we use to bring to light community issues and to put into action solutions which promote a positive change. Also in the syndicated area we do very well with shows like LIVE with Kelly Mark, Jeopardy!, Family Feud, Judge Judy, and Wheel of Fortune.
